Day 3 starts with a lot of rain. The river Aare swells up to an impressive level. Luckily my feet stay dry. This stage takes me from Brugg to the river Rhein near Koblenz and then along the river to Basel, where I stay again in the local Youth Hostel. A good place! But one thing after the other.
It made me smile, when I saw the streetsign to "Schwimmbad ARA", which means more or less "swimming pool and sevage cleaning". Obviously the county needs to save money, when they need to combi e sevage cleaning with swim ing pools. That could have some good economical reasons, but I'm not sure if I would enjoy to swim there with a smelly brease. Anyway!
Pretty fast I reChed the crossing, where I met the Rhein, who is from now on my travel companion.
I went on delichtfully until it didn't go on from one moment to the other. A flat backtyre! On the first days of my big journey to the UK. I was down. More or rather less talented I took the wheel off and replaced the tube somehow. After a dhort "feeling poorly" I went on and found the pleasure of cycling with my longrider again. We were cycling together towards the sunset (completely wrong direction and sun not visible because of the rain). We passed the first test, which is a good thing, if we like to reach the UK, my longrider and I. Now we go on stronger.
