JBUK DAYS 22 TO 25: ROTTERDAMNED

The last stage of my journey was from Gornichem to Rotterdam. The last part to enter the city was a little more complicated and leaded me in zigzag-ways between highways, channels and Crossings. I'm not in my best condition. I've got a rash. Luckily it has nothing to do with small creatures. I found out that it was about something, I got to eat. I'm glad to reach the hostel, where I stay for 4 nights in a room for my own. First thing to do is cleaning all the equipement and myself. And then a little relaxation. What about Rotterdam? You can't say Rotterdam is pretty. It's more a modern Town with a strange architecture, looking a little like the planners played big Lego. What I like are the many tiny restaurants, where you can eat "lekker" meals for quiet a little amount of money. Especially it was nice in the market-hall, where I enjoyed lebanese kitchen or in "De Beurs" next to the hostel, where you have a lovely ambience and some "lekker" healthy food. There's a lot going on in the evenings in this town. But I was not in the mood for parties. I prefered more to relax. I was lucky to find a good pub, where some live-music was played. I met a cool couple who looked like in the 60ies. They where from the UK and on their way with a campervan over the Netherlands and Belgium to France. On an other evening I went to the IMAX, where I enjoyed "Star Trek beyond" in in 3-4D. The movie wasn't brilliant, but I had fun anyway. I love cinemas! After all there was a little work to do, too. I had to organize a few things. My smartphone needed a new SIM-card. To my surprise I had to buy not only a SIM-card, but a cheap cellphone too. Thanks to the provider who blocked my smartphone for other SIM-cards :(. I'm a little unlucky with the weather conditions too. Rain, rain, rain.....rain - non-stop. I caught a little cold, but not seriously. Maybe my body is a little tired from the last weeks on my bike. So it's good to have a break. And then, there was the typical-me moment. When I brought my clothes to the laundry I must have lost the key for the bicycle lock. I have a very, very good bicycle lock. The employee who was helping me to crack the lock with a very, very big bolt cutter, confirmed the extremely good quality, while we bouth were congratulating eachother, sweating like an old cheese in the sun (if you know what I mean). I bought a new lock with 3 keys. I'll store them very, very thorough, I tell you!!!
